Fly with Give Hope Wings: Canada Cost to Coast Expedition

In another ambitious, record-breaking expedition, Hope Air is engaging over 50 pilots to fly across Canada - twice - in June 2021. This remarkable project will raise one million dollars to allow Hope Air to provide 4,000 flights for low-income patients who must travel long distances to reach medical care.

Give Hope Wings: Canada Coast to Coast Expedition is an epic multi-aircraft four-week series of flights from Victoria, British Columbia to St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador and back, visiting the communities where patients live and all the provincial capitals along the way. The 4th annual expedition will launch on June 8, 2021 and return to Victoria approximately four weeks later.

Hope Air
is Canada’s only national charity providing free travel and accommodations for Canadians in financial need who must access medical care far from home. Since its inception in 1986, Hope Air has provided more than 150,000 travel arrangements for patients regardless of age or medical need.

For people living on a low income in small and rural communities, distance and cost are very real barriers to them accessing vital medical care. Hope Air is a unique and essential part of our Canadian healthcare system. Without the access Hope Air provides, our national system of universal healthcare coverage would fall short of its promise.

Hope Air has been chosen as one of Canada’s best 100 charities by Maclean’s magazine, MoneySense magazine and Charity Intelligence based on efficiency, transparency and need.

Give Hope Wings is the largest volunteer-led fundraiser in Hope Air history. Championed by pilot Dave McElroy, a squadron of pilots circumnavigate different parts of the world in support of Hope Air. There have been three expeditions to date - the Americas Expedition, the Northwest Expedition and The Sault to Saguenay Expedition. The expeditions have raised $900,000, allowing Hope Air to provide 3,600 flights for patients in financial need who must travel far from home for medical care.
